From 8 to 10 March in Milan was held the 16th edition of the fair called "Do the right thing", the first and largest national fair of critical consumption and sustainable lifestyles.

Among various events, workshops, meetings, readings, presentations, tastings and shows, we had the opportunity to meet extraordinary people involved in the sharing, promotion and dissemination of "good practices" of consumption and production. Like Cristina Menghini, an environmental hiking guide, one of the most active and well-known Italian walkers.

With her on March 17 we left for the walk on Via Francisca del Lucomagno.

2019: the year of slow tourism

Our presence at the fair was not random. This event represents a valuable opportunity for updating and training for anyone that works in the various sectors of volunteering, this year's edition overlapped with a celebration that closely concerns Religious Hospitality.

In fact, 2019 was appointed by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities (Ministero per i Beni e le Attività Culturali) as the "year of slow tourism".

This form of tourism, which is becoming increasingly popular, is based on understanding of the territory, rather than on its consumption, because it allows you to rediscover the most authentic dimension of the host habitation.

Recuperating time and authenticity, "slow" vacationers live the rhythms of nature, temporarily moving away from the frenzy of the city and everyday life.

Slow tourism and spiritual tourism

Slow tourism will allow you to reflect, it will stimulate and inspire the ability to marvel at nature, it will invite you to forge interpersonal relationships and allow you to build a richer, more solid, sincerer travel experience.

The essence of spiritual tourism is in walking, breathing, stopping to look and listen to the silences. Spiritual tourism is also in sharing the table with the people who host you, reposing and letting the body and mind recover without pressing them.

Getting back to the natural flow of time is a surprising sensation, and once experienced will remain forever in you.
