Our diocesan house is a 16th-century Renaissance villa located in a hilly area, surrounded by the tranquil greenery of the woods and the silvery gray of the olive trees. It overlooks the plain where the city of Lucca is located, approximately 6 km away and easily accessible by city bus. It is an excellent base for visiting other Tuscan cities, as Pisa is 18 km away, the seaside at Viareggio is 20 km away, and the city of Florence is approximately 70 km away.

Purchased as a summer seminary for the Diocese of Lucca in the early 1800s, it was transformed in the 1970s by Msgr. Enrico Bartoletti, before he became secretary of the Italian Episcopal Conference, into a Diocesan House for spiritual exercises, seminars, training courses for clergy and laity, welcoming pilgrims, and retreat days for the various needs of parishes, groups or movements, families, and church events.
With the Jubilee of 2000 under the episcopate of Monsignor Bruno Tommasi, the House was equipped with the modern comforts needed to ensure a welcoming environment while retaining the simplicity that characterized it in previous centuries.

The House belongs to the Diocese of Lucca, associated with FIES - the Italian Federation of Spiritual Exercises, and is open year-round, always by prior arrangement with the leaders.

It has a capacity of 73 beds, with single, double, and triple rooms, all equipped with en-suite bathrooms and Wi-Fi. The home also has three meeting rooms, two dining rooms, and an indoor chapel. Outside, it features three garden areas, a car park, and a bus parking area. Tents can be set up on the surrounding lawn, and there's an open field equipped for soccer.
