Casa Sacro Cuore was built in the 19th century by Francesco Rossi, father of Alessandro Rossi, to house the children of his employees. It has undergone several changes of ownership, from a girls' summer camp run by the Sisters of the Holy Family to a holiday home managed by Catholic Action of Vicenza. Since 1996, it has been owned by the parish of Malo and is available to self-managed parish groups.
During each group's stay in the first building upon entry, there is always someone from the Malo parish who acts as a custodian in case of emergency.
The house is spread over four floors, with the ground floor dedicated to the dining room, lounge, and kitchen. The first, second, and third floors have similar rooms accessible by a convenient elevator. It has 29 bedrooms, 27 of which have ensuite bathrooms, and the other two have private bathrooms in the hallway. The first bedroom on each floor has four beds and a bathroom accessible to guests with disabilities.
For outdoor activities, there's a regulation volleyball court and a bocce court. The porch provides access to the underground bathrooms, which are useful during and after physical activity or after a walk.
Before entering the kitchen, there's a convenient pantry with dishes, cutlery, and tableware. The spacious and bright kitchen has a six-burner stove, two gas ovens, an electric oven, two 4-kg pasta cookers, a deep fryer, a slicer, a dishwasher, and a refrigerator. The pantry behind the kitchen features a cupboard with cookware, a freezer, and a refrigerator. The lawn outside the kitchen features a large fireplace for excellent barbecues.
Within 1 km, there's a church, bus stop, bar/restaurant, and residential area. Between 1 and 5 km, there's an ATM, supermarket, and pharmacy. Between 5 and 10 km, there's a hospital. The train station is over 10 km away.
