Casa Sacro Cuore was built in the 19th century by Francesco Rossi, father of Alessandro Rossi, to house the children of employees. It has undergone several changes of ownership from a colony for girls managed by the Sisters of the Holy Family to a holiday home managed by the Catholic Action of Vicenza. Since 1996 it has been owned by the parish of Malo and is available to self-managed parish groups.
During the stay of each group in the first structure upon entering there is always someone from the parish of Malo who acts as a custodian for any eventuality.
The house is spread over four floors, the ground floor dedicated to dining rooms, meeting room and kitchen. The first, second and third floors have similar rooms reachable with a convenient elevator. It has 29 rooms of which 27 with bathroom, the other two with private bathroom but in the corridor. The first room on each floor has four beds and has a bathroom suitable for disabled people.
For outdoor activities there is a regulation volleyball court and a bowling green. From the porch you can access the underground bathrooms useful during or after physical activity or when returning from a walk.
Before entering the kitchen there is a convenient pantry with dishes, cutlery and everything needed for the tables. The large and bright kitchen has a six-burner stove, two gas ovens, an electric oven, two 4-kilo pasta cookers, a fryer, slicer, dishwasher and refrigerator. In the pantry behind the kitchen there is a cupboard with cookware, a freezer and a vertical refrigerator. In the lawn outside the kitchen there is a large fireplace for excellent barbecues.
