SANTA SABINA Colony in Neirone (Genoa)
Description
The colony was built between the two world wars by the Pavonians, who had opened professional schools in Genoa and used it for their students' summer holidays.
It was acquired by the parish of S Sabina (Genoa) in 1992 for summer camps for the parish children.
It is located in an isolated area, about 50 km from Genoa, at the end of a main road and on the edge of a wood that is partly owned.
It can accommodate up to 50 people, divided into three dormitories and several smaller rooms. It has shared bathrooms and showers with hot water, a chapel, a refectory, a games room, a large equipped kitchen, and a pantry.
A porch runs along the entire front of the house for outdoor activities on rainy days.
The house has parking, a soccer field, and a fire pit with an outdoor altar.
There is a large lawn available, as well as some smaller lawns for pitching tents, and there is access to the adjacent woodland owned by the property.
The water comes from a source monitored by a UV purifier, gas is supplied by an LPG tank, and rubbish bins are located next to the house.
The house has electric lighting: external LED lights allow for evening and night-time activities.
