The "Maria Candida" Spirituality Center began its hospitality activities in 1971 as a retreat house for the Sisters of Charity of Saint Jeanne-Antide Thouret, at the behest of the then Mother General, Sister Maria Candida Torchio, for whom the house was later named. Over time, the Center expanded its hospitality to include dioceses and parishes, other male and female religious congregations, and Catholic schools for retreat weeks or weekends. Today, it welcomes individuals, families, tourist groups, and business meetings year-round as a vacation home.

It offers 98 total beds, with the option of adding additional camp beds. It also has two large, naturally lit conference rooms equipped with video projection equipment, small group rooms, a spacious dining room and a smaller room, an indoor bar, a church, a chapel, a tabernacle room called "Desert" for moments of personal meditation, and a clinic. The entire facility is surrounded by a large, well-maintained 15,000 m² park with designated areas for resting, reading, or playing. The facility also offers a large, convenient parking lot.

It is located in Armeno, a small mountain village in the Diocese of Novara, five minutes from Lake Orta, fifteen minutes from Mount Mottarone, and thirty minutes from Lake Maggiore (distances by car). The property is also very close to the towns of Borgomanero and Omegna, which have all the necessary shops, healthcare facilities, and recreational facilities, and can also be reached by public transportation.
The surrounding area is home to countless tourist towns and cities offering cultural, recreational, celebratory, and religious events. It is also very close to important places of worship, such as the Sacred Mountains of Northern Italy, primarily the Sacred Mount of Orta San Giulio, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Center also offers the opportunity to use its catering services (kitchen, dining room, and park) for festive occasions: Baptisms, First Communions, Confirmations, Anniversaries; group and association parties; and corporate dinners and lunches.
