The building in question was built in the 1950s and renovated in 2016, used as an elementary and nursery school until 2004, since 2005 it has become the "Madonna di Montenero" Center with the specification of "Hotel Family Community". The building is developed on three floors, includes the gym equipped with showers and services, kitchen equipped for 80 meals, refectory-canteen with television room, 3 large rooms, 2 medium, all with bunk beds, seven rooms usable as singles, doubles or triples (these with the characteristic wooden alpine and high energy class) for a total of 75 places with large corridors on each floor. Each floor is equipped with adequate toilets and showers. Outside there is a soccer and volleyball field, a 5-minute walk from the Don Bosco Sports Center and the PoliAlbaredo with various activities.

Albaredo per S.Marco is the most important municipality of the Bitto Valley of Albaredo, it is located at an altitude of 950m. above sea level in the heart of the Orobie Valtellinesi Park. Albaredo is in the Province of Sondrio on the left bank of the Adda river, 10 km from Morbegno on the road to the S. Marco Pass which connects the Province of Sondrio with that of Bergamo. The Bitto Valley of Albaredo is the area of origin and typical of the production of Bitto cheese and is affected by the passage of one of the most famous historic communication routes between the Alps, the Via Priula, which can be reached from Milan in less than an hour and a half. From Albaredo, home to the entrance gate of the Orobie Valtellinesi Park, the ecomuseum (among the most important in Lombardy) starts, an open-air route of 3.5 km with naturalistic characteristics integrated with local material history. There are several paths in the area with high naturalistic value (woods, streams, meadows and mountain pastures easily accessible). The Porta del Parco is equipped with two multimedia rooms with a large screen and a naturalistic museum. Main walks: path of the monumental trees, path of the mountain pastures and transhumance, Alpine eco-museum, path of the Alpine lakes.
Excursions for: elementary, middle, high school, experts. From the center there are several equipped nature trails leading to the mountain pastures, the historic communication route called "Via Priula", the Bitto Valley ecomuseum and connecting paths with the other mountain side valleys of the Orobie Eco Museum (albaredopersanmarco.so.it)
