The Gregorianum University College is an offshoot of the Gregorianum Religious Foundation, whose president is the bishop of the diocese of Padua. Its management is entrusted to a Board of Directors, of which he appoints a vice-president.
The Gregorianum houses 60 students in single rooms and five graduates who serve as tutors. Students are admitted through a series of interviews to determine their suitability for the program.
The college aims to create a university life experience aimed at a comprehensive personal formation, for the acquisition of valid professional skills, within the context of a Christian choice.
The Gregorianum, therefore, is not intended to be simply a place of hospitality, but rather engages students—in addition to exemplary fulfillment of their academic duties—in internal cultural work, both personal and group, aimed at training Christian professionals. People who know how to apply the qualified professional expertise they have acquired within the broader context of a holistic view of life inspired by Christian values.
Entering college therefore presupposes an initial maturity, a serious adherence to the aforementioned principles and a willingness to live them in the community.
Individuals are encouraged to translate the college's proposed goals into their own academic pursuits, but the encouragement to pursue this line of work comes from a gradual orientation across the entire environment, rather than from top-down pressure.
Students are constantly reminded that actively using the tools and cultural opportunities that the college offers them is as important as their academic career for the continuity of their presence at the Gregorianum.
