Convent OF THE ENCOUNTER in Bagno a Ripoli (Florence)
70 posti letto

Description
In the Florentine hills just 15 minutes from Florence, immersed in the woods and the spontaneous, varied and luxuriant beauty of nature, stands the convent of Incontro, harmoniously inserted with its Franciscan simplicity into the surrounding environment.
Founded in 1716 by order of San Leonardo da Porto Maurizio on an ancient hermitage that still preserves traces dating back to the Lombard period, the convent preserves interesting testimonies of the rich historical and religious past that have made it a unique and suitable place for spiritual and cultural moments in an atmosphere enhanced by natural beauty. In front of the church, a natural terrace overlooks the city and the hills that surround it, reaching the peaks of the Apennines and the crests of the Apuan Alps.
In 2000, the Obiettivo Francesco Association, which since its inception has promoted many missionary events, decided to revalue the Convento dell'Incontro, in collaboration with the OFM Tuscany Province, according to its ancient origins.
The place has been made available both for hospitality and religious activities and for socio-cultural events and ceremonies, respecting the original spirit of simplicity and spirituality. It has large internal rooms, equipped external space and a large garden with a covered tensile structure. There are also two fields with soccer goals and a field with a volleyball net.
The convent also has a private forest of six hectares completely closed to outsiders, surrounded by stone walls.
Within 200 m. church. Between 1 and 5 km bus stop, ATM, bar/restaurant, residential area. Between 5 and 10 km supermarket, pharmacy, hospital.
By provisions of the Ministry of Tourism, the facility is exempt from the National Identification Code as it does not apply rates but accepts donations in favor of the management body.
