Hostel IL TETTO in Melfi (Potenza)
72 posti letto

Description
The facility will be closed for renovations until 2026.
HOSTEL IL TETTO is located in the Diocesan Seminary building, built in 1625 by Bishop Monsignor Scaglia, and part of the monumental complex of the Bishop's Palace and the Minor Basilica of the Cathedral in Melfi, an important historical site due to the Melfi councils and constitutions.
The structure is simple, sober, discreet and silent, unique in its kind in the historic centre of Melfi, a stone's throw from the Cathedral and a stone's throw from the Norman-Swabian Castle where the National Archaeological Museum of Melfi is located.
The building is divided into the ground floor with the reception, the Osteria Al Cenacolo dining room, the Caffè dei Libri, and the Emporium. On the first floor are the bedrooms, the Friendship Room, and the Meeting Room. On the second floor are two bedrooms and a small Chapel of the Friend Jesus. Outside is the Mother Earth Garden.
Special events: the Pentecost festival features a historical parade that has been taking place for over 500 years, and the Chestnut Festival on the third Sunday of October. From Melfi, you can easily reach Matera, Venosa, the Sanctuary of San Donato Ripacandida, Rionero in Vulture, Barile, the Sanctuary of Pierno and San Fele (birthplace of San Giustino de Jacobis), an important nature trail, the Monticchio Laghi, and the Badia with the Sanctuary of San Michele Arcangelo. Nature trails, falconry workshops, and bike tours can be organized upon request.
