The Scalabrinian community of Bassano del Grappa has its roots in 1930, the year the Scalabrini Seminary was founded: an important training center for future missionaries for Italian emigrants around the world.

In this splendid and historic structure, majestically rising against the backdrop of the beautiful Valsugana, the Scalabrinian Missionaries continue their pastoral ministry, in keeping with the charism of their founder, Blessed John Baptist Scalabrini. Among the most significant are those related to youth vocation ministry in the dioceses of Vicenza, Padua, and Treviso.

In recent years, the work of welcoming and hosting families, groups and associations, periodic workers and tourists through the Holiday Home has assumed considerable importance.
