The facility is located in Esino Lario in the province of Lecco. The building, which once housed an old spinning mill, has been converted into a hotel to accommodate families and groups; for several years, the COE has had a significant experience hosting refugees here.

La Montanina is currently self-managed by organizations and associations for vacations, retreats, and eco-friendly or sports days, with full management of the hotel entrusted to them. This arrangement allows groups to keep costs down and fosters meaningful collaboration and cooperation between young people and families, fostering moments of service and socialization.
