Description

In the spirit and ideals of its founder, the Servant of God Father Enrico Mauri (1883-1967), the renovated house offers an annual program of educational and spiritual activities and is also available to welcome church groups and other organizations, married couples, various initiatives, study courses, conferences, retreats, and various educational activities. In 1921, with the purchase of the Villa Glauer Massone in Sestri Levante (GE), Father Enrico Mauri began the work of the Opera Madonnina del Grappa, welcoming war widows and orphans for the human and spiritual development of widowhood and the education of young people. The home's atmosphere was family-like, the fruit of a wise educational approach, based on female collaboration alongside priestly work, in manual labor combined with study. In this climate, Father Enrico Mauri organized the first spirituality courses for priests in Sestri Levante, followed by courses for lay people and married couples, focusing primarily on the Christian path to sanctification. Thus was born a spiritual family consisting of the secular institute "Oblates of Christ the King," the "Hope and Life" movement for widows' spirituality, the Association of Spouses in Christ, and the "Friends of the Madonnina."

The "Father Enrico Mauri" Spirituality Center is today the driving force behind the spiritual and pastoral work of the Society and is open to all walks of life: lay people, married couples, widows, and priests, with the shared goal of spreading the joy born of experiencing the mystery of the nuptial love of Christ for the Church and the Church for Christ. Father Enrico Mauri's process for canonization is underway.
