Description

The Mater Divinae Sapientiae Spirituality House takes its name from a natural spring located at the foot of a hill near the house, which, since ancient times, residents of the surrounding districts had relied on water. When the community of nuns led by Don Nicola Mazza arrived here in 1966, they also found the image of the Madonna that the families of the parish of Santa Lucia ai Monti in Valeggio sul Mincio (VR) had prayed to during their pilgrimage , marking the centenary of the apparitions in Lourdes (1858-1958). They wanted to dedicate a shrine to her. The nuns chose the Fontanafredda spring as the most suitable place to build it, entrusting the spirituality house to the Virgin Mary.
