MONTESANTO Holiday Home in Todi (Perugia)
86 posti letto

Description
In ancient times it was called Monte Mascarano, with a temple dedicated to the god Mars and the goddess Bellona. In 1235, Buono, Abbot of San Fortunato, granted the land to Blessed Ruggero da Todi to build a Poor Clare Monastery, at the request of Gregory IX. Jacopone da Todi may also have been part of the community of religious serving the Monastery. The Poor Clares abandoned Montesanto in 1367, and the Monastery was transformed by Albornoz into a defensive fortress. In 1448, the Community of Todi entrusted it to the Observants, adapting it as a convent.
The Montesanto Convent is also a Reception House, equipped with a large hall seating 250 for conferences. Throughout the year, our House offers hospitality to individuals and groups for retreats, formation, and prayer in a community atmosphere that fosters listening. The friars of the fraternity are available for spiritual exercises and evangelization training courses for parishes, priests, and religious. In addition to the spiritual exercises, we also offer training days in the new evangelization, aimed at young people and adults aged 18 and over.
In addition to residential accommodation, provided during courses and other events held at our Convent, we also offer the opportunity to spend periods of retreat, prayer, and silence, both individually and in groups, led by a friar from the community.
All rooms are equipped with en-suite facilities and linens, and it is possible to agree on the type of treatment desired with the father in charge of the reception.
