The name "Casa di Silvio" refers to Mr. Silvio Cerino, a Bulliano family born in Balangero (Turin). He, along with regional contributions and another anonymous benefactor, made the hostel possible for youth groups interested in Christian education. It represents the social outreach offered by the Brughiera Sanctuary. Open year-round, it can accommodate a large number of self-managed guests.

Within 200 meters, there's a church and a bar/restaurant. Between 1 and 5 km, there's a bus stop, ATM, supermarket, pharmacy, hospital, and residential area. Over 10 km from the train station and airport.
