Description

"On the Garibaldi path, the hero of the two worlds traveled to the Tyrrhenian Sea in 1848, and right in the heart of the Tuscan-Romagna Apennines, found an ancient stone convent with a small consecrated church. You are at the Valnera Refuge."
"Nestled in a place of peace and hidden among woods of oak, chestnut and broom plants, famous for its pure, spartan and fascinating source of water, this refuge will amaze you for the location and the friendliness of the people who frequent it, for the silence and its nature, for the small local delicacies that will be offered to you. "

"You are in the province of Florence but at the gates of Romagna and you can reach it by any means ... but if you come from Florence or Ravenna get there with Dante's train and get off at the small station of San Martino in Gattara."

A few kilometers from the hut we meet Marradi, the birthplace of the poet Dino Campana, author of the "Canti Orfici"; this town has the flavor of the past and can be visited in a suggestive way along the routes of the Lamone River.
The Marradese territory is rich in woods and transparent waters, has an irregular profile in the succession of mountains on which Abeti, Carpini, Beeches, and Chestnut trees thrive, crossed by marked paths passable on foot, on horseback and by mountain bike - also with specialized guides -.
Marradi is reachable thanks to the "Dante Train", a train that unites the city of Florence - Art city - with the city of Ravenna - Capital of the Western Empire -, meeting along the path Brisighella - More beautiful villages of Italy- and Faenza -City of Ceramics-.

Valnera, the last “strip” of Tuscan land, a place of prayer, perhaps a convent, for the Camaldolese monks, a resting place, a stop for General Garibaldi, a parish until the 1960s, a school for the inhabitants who lived in the valley, a refuge during the war, a peasant house until the 1950s, a place of ghosts - the inhabitants of San Martino in Gattara murmur.
At the end of the 1970s he began his Hospitality and Refreshment activity.
