The sisters of the Monastic Fraternities of Jerusalem have lived in the Gamogna Hermitage since September 1998.

They were called here by the bishop of the diocese of Faenza-Modigliana to serve the people of today, particularly in the diocese where the hermitage is located, but not only there. Their simple presence, through hospitality, work, and prayer, continues a history spanning nearly 1,000 years, beginning with St. Peter Damian, who founded a hermit's life here with the first monks way back in 1053.

The Hermitage is a crossroads for many trails in the Tuscan-Romagna Apennines (Dante's Walk, St. Anthony's Walk, the Italian Alpine Club's walk to Marradi and the Eremo Pass, and the Viae Misericordiae). It is a meeting place for those who have lived here, been baptized, married (Gamogna was a parish until the 1960s), and worked tirelessly for its restoration (beginning in 1991). It is a place of pilgrimage to ask for graces for themselves and their loved ones, a destination for scout groups, parishes, and trekking and mountain biking enthusiasts.

Within 200 meters is a church. Bus stop is 1 to 5 km away. Over 10 km from the train station, airport, ATM, bar/restaurant, supermarket, pharmacy, and hospital.

Smoking is prohibited throughout the property. Pets are not allowed.

By provisions of the Ministry of Tourism, the facility is exempt from the National Identification Code as it does not charge fees but accepts donations to the management body.
