Description

San Gioacchino al Castello sits on a promontory in the northern area of Ballabio, not far from State Road 36DIR, which starts in Lecco and runs through the Valsassina valley. The house is ideally located for reaching popular tourist destinations such as Barzio and Pian dei Resinelli, and is a convenient starting point for trails leading to the Grigna massif.

The Canossian-owned facility is currently in excellent condition, thanks in part to recent renovations. The building has 37 rooms, accommodating a total of 44 people, in double and single rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms. The community of nuns resides in the oldest part of the building.

The floors are connected by an elevator, with convenient access for guests with disabilities. The house features a welcoming reception area, an internal kitchen, and a bright dining room. The common areas can be used for various activities, such as courses and meetings (a multimedia meeting room and a second, smaller room). Casa San Gioacchino al Castello di Ballabio has a large, well-kept garden and a terrace on the top floor. Guests can also enjoy moments of reflection in the spacious chapel. The rooms are tastefully furnished and very comfortable, with bathrooms equipped with showers. Wi-Fi is available in some areas of the house.
