Foresteria SANT'ANTONIO ABATE in Rome
34 posti letto

Description
The most traditional form of presence of monks and nuns in the world is hospitality, which, according to the Rule, aims not only to offer material relief to those who visit the community, but also to provide them with spiritual nourishment in the communion of charity and in their encounter with the Word of God (cf. RB 58,8-9). Charity makes the nuns attentive to the spiritual needs of their guests, and also makes them attentive to humbly and mutually edifyingly embrace the demands that the Church and the world place on monastic consecration.
The nun (doorkeeper or guesthouse) who presides over the reception of guests, "whose soul is completely possessed by the fear of God" (RB 58,21), welcomes them like Christ himself, working to foster a climate of spiritual serenity and communion in prayer, so that the guests feel welcomed into the house of the Lord.
The monastic community, in line with the tradition of our ancient Fathers, therefore makes itself available to welcome everyone with sincere love and to recognize the "seeds of the Word" mysteriously present in every man who seeks the face of God, since "God shows no partiality, but accepts, in every nation, anyone who fears him and does what is right" (Acts 10:34-35).
